Welcome to TheCampusCareerCoach.com. My name is Matt Berndt.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY and schooled at SUNY Oswego-New York (BA-Broadcasting/Mass Media & German), the University of Würzburg-Germany (Language & Cultural Studies), and the University of Southern California (MA-Communications Management), I came to CSO in May 2012 after twelve years as the Director of Communication Career Services at The University of Texas at Austin.

Prior to my time at UT Austin, I worked in career services and external relations roles at the USC Annenberg School for Journalism & Communication, the USC Marshall School of Business and St. Edwards University, and in the staffing industry for Randstad/Office Specialists and Alternative Resources Corporation.

I have served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and the NACE Principles for Professional Practice Committee, was a Founding Member of the Southern Association of College and Employers (SoACE) Board of Directors, and am a Past President of the Southwestern Association of Colleges and Employers (SWACE).

I  live in Round Rock, TX with my wife Melissa, daughters Tess and Jillian and dogs Rocket (a Labrador-Great Dane) and Charlotte (a pug). I am the proud father of a French horn player and a clarinetist and am the Finance Manager of the Round Rock High School Band Booster Club.
